The New York Mets pitcher Oliver Perez has been activated from the disabled list and will start tonight against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Perez, who has been sidelined with patellar tendinitis in his right knee, has not pitched in the majors since May 2nd in a start in which he could not get out of the third inning.
After the start the the Mets announced plans to move Perez to the bullpen.
The next day the Mets placed Perez on the disabled list, and Perez never saw any action out of the bullpen.
Perez started five games before the injury, going 1-2 with a 9.97 ERA.
The Mets have been struggling as of late, due to inconsistent play and injuries. The club is just 2-8 in their last ten games, including a current four game losing streak.
To make room on the roster, second baseman Argenis Reyes was optioned to AAA-Buffalo. Reyes was called up on June 24th and played sparingly with the Mets in a reserve role. He had one hit and a stolen base in 13 at-bats.
